Hello! My name is Katerina Krouglik. Born in Belarus I am now living for many years in France. I’ve studied different professions, worked as a hotel receptionist. Still felt like I’ve been floating without a purpose in life, not getting anywhere. In 2019 I’ve decided to take courses in film editing which helped greatly to understand what is storytelling. Those courses helped to overcome some of my personal fears about digital technology. What’s more, my teachers taught me to look at images and to listen to sounds in a completely new way. I liked it best taking a camera and going for a shoot.
Out of all the genres, landscape and nature photography provides the most peace of mind. I can do that for hours – looking for interesting subjects (especially plants for close up pictures), trying different angles, observing the light! Shooting in a city - people or events – is also a good challenge, both exciting and frightening. Photography provides me a good anchor to reality, motivates to overcome personal shortcomings. I feel like some kind of imbalance is gradually straightening up and, hopefully, soon I’ll be able to create impactful and meaningful works and make a profession out of it.
